WATCH YOUR CHARACTER

Proverbs 18:24: A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Some years ago, I heard someone complain bitterly about how she had helped many people. However, when those people are in a position to repay the favour, they don’t! I prayed for her and decided to watch her character. Eventually, I saw the reason why!

Many times, if we are truly honest with ourselves, we will see things that God wants us to correct in our characters that cause a lot of damage. Those things you call “nothing” may be the reason some doors are shut toward you. You see, not every closed door is demonic. Sometimes, it’s just bad behavior that has closed the door. It’s very easy to point fingers at others except ourselves. The Bible teaches us to examine ourselves (2 Cor 13:5). We can be more polite (we may be too authoritarian). We could even be blinded to our faults, but today, we make a change. Say after me: Lord help me to work on my character in Jesus’ name, amen!
