The philosophy of this world tells us that, in order to live life to the fullest, you should do whatever you feel. It seeks to convince us that each individual determines what is permissible and what is not. It seems okay to trust in your understanding until you realize that not everything that looks good is truly good. The Bible says that there is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 16:25). Our opening verse teaches us that if we keep the commandments of God, that is when we will live. The truth is that God is the sole determiner of what is good and what is not. The only way to truly live is to follow the way of God. The instructions of the Lord are the way of life.
The word of God is a lamp and a light, guiding us in the way of life. Beginning today, let the word of God determine your decisions. Pray with me: Dear Lord, I receive grace to order my life according to your word, in Jesus name, amen.
