Once upon a time, the disciples of Jesus argued about which of them would be the greatest ( see Mark 9:33-37). Jesus answered in verse 35 saying, “IF any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all and servant of all”. This means that true greatness is for those willing to give and contribute. When you join a group, a team, or an organization, think of how you can add value to them. Think of how you can contribute to their growth and well-being. When you make friends and build relationships, always ask yourself this: How can I add to this person’s life? How can I contribute to their success and well-being? Those who empty themselves in others are never exhausted. Say after me: From today, wherever I go, I will add value to people in Jesus’ name, amen.
