Many years ago, I saw a book titled “Today Matters” by John C.
Maxwell. It got me really thinking. A lot of people have learned and embraced the power of vision-the mental picture of the future-but have ignored the power of NOW. This is the undoing of many visionaries. They are so excited about their vision and what they have seen, but they trivialize the present. They do nothing today and wonder why tomorrow is empty. Today was once called tomorrow. Today was once called the future. In our opening verse, Jesus stopped his disciples from postponing the time for harvest. He told them, “Look at the fields; they are ready for harvest.” Are you seeing what you must do now? One simple way to predict the future is by creating it-by what you are doing now.Say after me: “Father, help me take advantage of the NOW to create my future in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
