The Bible says in Romans 1:20, “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made.” This means you can understand the invisible world through the visible world. Jesus used agriculture to explain the realities of God’s kingdom. In our opening verse, Jesus was talking about people but used the imagery of plants and soil.
He spoke of the “deepness of earth” and the “lack of root,” illustrating that when the sun came out, the plants withered. I have a word from the Lord for you this morning: take your roots deeper.
A day is coming when your roots and depth will be tested. While you are not yet overwhelmed by challenges, build your faith. Take the word of God deep into your spirit. Pray more now so that in adversity, you have a reservoir to draw from. Say after me: “Lord, help me take my roots deeper in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
