STRETCH A LITTLE

2 Kings 13:18 : Then he said, "Take the arrows," and the king took them. Elisha told him, "Strike the ground." He struck it three times and stopped.

Our opening verse was pulled from a prophetic story in the Old Testament about the nation of Israel. The nation was fighting a war with the nation of Aram, and the king of Israel needed help.

As a result, he went to meet the Prophet Elisha. The prophet gave him a prophetic instruction to strike the ground. However, The Bible records in 2 Kings 13:19 that the man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.” This statement by the prophet means that a little extra would have been the difference between defeat and complete victory. It may not be easy, but stretch a little. Push a little more. You’re blessed.
