The writer of the book of Hebrews likens our walk with Jesus to a marathon race. However, this is quite different. We are told how to run this race. First of all, he says that we should run with patience. In normal human races, you don’t run with patience.
The reason for this is that the Christian race is not about who comes first, but about who runs well to the end. Also, the writer of Hebrews tells us that the way to run is by looking unto Jesus. If you will run well, Jesus must be your priority and focus. Don’t get carried away. Learn to ask yourself what does Jesus want me to do in this season? Don’t get lost in the motions of life and forget the purpose of life – To know Christ and to make him known. Say after me: My eyes are fixed on Jesus forever!
