Our opening verse was pulled from the story Jesus taught about the “rich fool”. Please read the full story (Luke 12:15-21). This man had a very profitable farm business. He made so much that he wanted to break down the old store houses and build new ones and then “enjoy” his wealth. However, God demanded for his soul that night. In order words, he died. Jesus then asked in verse 20, “who will take those things that this rich man has provided? So is he that lays up treasures for himself and is not rich toward God”. There is something called being rich towards God. This is serving God with your money. Have you been rich towards God? How much of your money has supported the spread of the gospel? Say after me: Heavenly father, help me to be rich towards you and serve you with my money in Jesus’ name, amen.
