People often assume that God’s plans are automatic and solely depend on Him. However, Scripture shows that man always has a role to play. In Genesis 18, God said that Abraham will be a mighty nation. God didn’t say that just because Abraham was a special person. Let’s see our opening verse. Abraham was chosen because God knew that he would lead his family to follow the LORD and practice justice. Now, read the last statement in that verse. Look at that! The fulfillment of God’s word to Abraham was linked to his commitment to commanding his family after God. What is your response to God’s word to you? God always wants to do his will in our lives, but he can’t force us. We must be willing to partner with him and be in agreement. Say this prayer with me: Dear Lord, help me respond to you readily. Remove any slowness of heart in m concerning your word. In Jesus’ name, amen!
