We can’t over-emphasize controlling our desire for pleasure Uncontrolled pleasure is a major reason why many are stunted; the love for pleasure rules them. They would rather sleep than pray, and rather watch movies than listen to the word of God. They would rather lose their birthright than lose their pleasure, like Esau in our opening verse. This is not to condemn, but to challenge you. Whenever there is a temptation to yield to pleasure, think about the greater pleasure of yielding to discipline. Think about how great you can be if you overcome uncontrolled pleasure. Say after me: Heavenly Father, I receive grace to rule over pleasure in Jesus name, amen.
