Our opening verses describe one of the major characteristics of the last days. It is that people will be lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. This is a very powerful way to check if you are overtaken by the spirit of the last days. The truth is, nothing competes with your spiritual life like the love for pleasure. This is the reason many struggle with spiritual growth! They want God, but they also want extreme pleasure. Not so! One must go for the other! So, how do you deal with the love for pleasure? By staying with God until your love for God becomes stronger than your love for pleasure. Declare this: My love for God is stronger than my love for pleasures in Jesus’ name, amen!
