In our opening verse, we see the Apostle Paul on a journey as a prisoner on a ship. As they were about to sail, Paul warned that the trip would result in great damage. Acts 27:10 says “And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.” Despite Paul’s warning, the captain and crew chose to proceed because the weather looked favorable. Soon, a violent storm struck, causing them to lose all their belongings and see neither sun, moon, nor stars for fourteen days. It was then that Paul spoke up. It was then that Paul spoke the words of our opening verse. In this twisted world, it pays a lot to listen to the Holy Spirit. We call it the inward witness. When the spirit of God impresses something on your heart, pay attention. Pray this:
“Father, help me to always listen to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
