MASTERING RELATIONSHIPS

Proverbs 14:4 : Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: But much increase is by the strength of the ox.

In farming, oxen are used for activities such as plowing, spreading manure, etc. They are very useful for farm work but keeping them meant that you also have to deal with the amount of waste they produce. Our opening scripture shares a very profound truth. The proverb is not speaking exactly of oxen but applies to our relationship with people. No matter how it may stretch you, having people will always be better than having no one. Although you may be able to avoid a lot of misunderstandings if you didn’t have to work with people, it is wise to preserve relationships and deal with negative experiences. Why? People are necessary for increase. No great thing is achieved by the strength of one person. In His earthly ministry, Jesus needed people even with their flaws. Say after me: I cherish the people God brings into my life and I am not discouraged by their faults.
