I think there are verses of the Bible that must ring loud in the heart of every serious Christian. Our opening verse falls into that category. Especially because we are living in times when the devil is trying so hard to make evil enticing. We have a stern instruction from the word of God to “Love not the world”. This instruction is really strong because this isn’t even talking about if you committed a sin or not. The question here is do you love it?
What do you love? What do you like? This also means that the first place a Christian should deal with on the matters of sin and worldliness is in his heart. When you see your heart desiring what it should reject then you know you should take a retreat. When it looks like you’re becoming in love with the world, re-ignite your love for the Lord Jesus. Say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I receive grace to love you more and to reject the world. In Jesus name, amen.
