The more I read the Bible, the more I thank God for the Old Testament. It vividly illustrates spiritual truths. Our opening verse is from a story in 2 Chronicles 18:1-19:3. In this account, Jehoshaphat, the King of Judah, was being persuaded by Ahab, the King of Israel, to join him in battle. However, Jehoshaphat insisted on seeking the counsel of the Lord first.

They sought God’s guidance, and He revealed His will to them: God did not want them to go to battle. Despite this divine warning, Ahab disregarded the word of the Lord, resulting in a resounding defeat. Jehoshaphat nearly lost his life, but the Bible records that God came to his aid. Have you learned the importance of seeking the Lord’s guidance? And when God’s will becomes clear to you, do you follow it? Repeat after me: “I will inquire of the Lord before making a move!”
