One of the mistakes many Christians make is the mistake of assumption. Sometimes we assume that we are growing in the Lord simply because of certain activities we engage in. Some even believe that they are growing spiritually because they participated in a church rally or have been appointed as a leader. While these can be results or consequences of spiritual growth, they do not necessarily cause it. The Bible is clear that one of the ways to experience true spiritual growth is through feeding on the Word of God. A sincere heart seeking to know the Lord through His Word will lead to spiritual development.
Don’t get carried away! When was the last time you sat down to sincerely read the Bible? When was the last time you intentionally listened to a sermon? Pray this: “Lord, help me feed my spirit intentionally in Jesus’ name. Amen.
