This is no prophecy of doom, but there are some battles in life that you cannot win except with fasting and prayer. For instance, in our opening verse, a child who was afflicted with demons was brought to the disciples of Jesus. They couldn’t set him free but when Jesus came, he was freed. Jesus initially said that they couldn’t free the boy because of their unbelief. Afterwards, Jesus said this kind does not go out but by prayer and fasting. So what’s the connection between “believing” and “fasting”. Fasting and prayers strengthens your spirit to believe the word of God in such an audacious way. This will produce a solid front in the authority of Jesus over demons and stubborn challenges. This is why many Christians say “fasting brings power”. Fasting doesn’t bring power! It ignites the power of God in you for action. Declare: As I fast, my faith is ignited in Jesus name, amen!
