I want to begin today’s devotional with a somewhat controversial statement: “You stand no chance for progress in life if you are lazy.” I have a word from the Lord for you today: Embrace Diligence. A lazy or slothful person is someone who is unwilling to work or use energy. This is important to note because in order to produce results, you have to expend energy. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:9, “He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.” This means that if you are lazy, you will waste the resources and opportunities available to you from lack of use. Still in the book of Proverbs, the Bible says, ‘The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat” (Proverbs 13:4). Laziness will rob you of increase.
In order to step into God’s plan for your life, diligence is required.
Say this after me: I reject laziness and I embrace diligence.
