Our opening verse is from a story that illustrates the link between
“miracles” and “principles” (see 2 Kings 4:1-7). In this story, a widow owed a lot of money and desperately needed a miracle. She sought help from Prophet Elisha, who asked her, “What do you have in your house?” She replied that all she had was a small jar of oil. Elisha instructed her to gather as many empty vessels as she could find. She obeyed, and something miraculous unfolded: as she poured from her jar, the oil kept flowing until every vessel was completely filled. Now consider this: why did the oil stop flowing once the last vessel was filled? The answer lies in the principle that God does not give beyond our capacity to receive. The amount we receive is directly tied to the size of our capacity. If you desire more from God, the key is to expand your capacity. Pray this: Lord, help me enlarge my capacity to receive more in Jesus’ name. Amen.
