BETTER THAN MONEY

Proverbs 8:10 : Receive my instruction, and not silver; And knowledge rather than choice gold.

Many people argue that the sole pursuit in life should be acquiring money. However, the Bible states that while money is valuable (Eccl 10:19), there are many things more important. Our opening scripture identifies two such things: instruction and knowledge. The Bible suggests that between instruction and silver, one should choose instruction, and between knowledge and gold, one should choose knowledge. This principle is emphasized throughout the Bible and applies broadly to our decisions in life. When faced with opportunities, people often ask,

“How much money will I gain from this?” However, money should not be the sole measure of true gain or success in life. The pursuit of money should not be the primary motivation guiding our choices-whether in our career paths, selecting a spouse, or even in following God. Say after me: I will not let money rule my life.
