As believers, having received the Spirit through salvation, our default nature is to be in sync with the Holy Spirit. To stay aligned with the Holy Spirit, we must cultivate certain habits, one of which is being filled with the Spirit. According to our opening verse up to verse 21, we remain filled through worship, making melody in our hearts to the Lord, giving thanks, and submitting to one another.
Today, let’s focus on worship and making melody in our hearts. If we examine our opening verse closely, we see that the Apostle Paul describes the kinds of melodies we should create: psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Not all songs have the ability to fill us with the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we must prioritize songs that do that. These may include familiar songs or new ones that arise from our spirits. I pray for you that melodies of the Spirit fill your heart and that you are aglow with the Holy Spirit today. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
