Our opening verse reveals a major turning point in the account of Genesis. The Bible explains to us that at a certain point in creation, the earth was empty and without form. However, the Bible also records that after this realization, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. The state of the earth at that time may reflect the state of your life right now: empty and formless. You may not truly understand your purpose and nothing significant seems to be happening. Just as God brought order from chaos through the Holy Spirit, so can He transform your life. Dear believer, if at any point in your life you feel short of God’s best, you must turn to the Holy Spirit and focus on Him. Do not be overwhelmed by emptiness. Pray with me: “Lord Jesus, help me identify and overcome whatever is distracting me from you. Help me to pay attention. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
